Description: The data set is comparing and examining data from FAO on global fish catch in millions of tons for farmed production and wild catch.
The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization Fisheries and Aquaculture Department compiled the comprehensive dataset used. The department collected the catches and yields across 6 continents, all major ocean basins, inland waters, and from well over a hundred developed and developing countries. The data collected is from various public and private entities involved in monitoring and recording data locally, regionally, and nationally. The research and data collection dates back to the 1950s through to the present.
