my research question was does hw average affect final exam grade.

explanatory is hw average and response is final exam grade

I believe that a linear model is appropriate because according to the visuals in this report, they look very linear.

R (correlation coefficient) = 0.7318607
R-sq = 0.53562008

Result 1: Simple Linear Regression 1   [Info]
Simple linear regression results:
Dependent Variable: Final Exam
Independent Variable: HW Average
Final Exam = -4.2111136 + 0.9363976 HW Average
Sample size: 34
R (correlation coefficient) = 0.7318607
R-sq = 0.53562008
Estimate of error standard deviation: 16.614186
