NFL Scores from 2013
Data for every NFL game of the 2013 season. Variables include the week of the game (Week), day of the week (Day), calendar date of the game (Date), winning team (Winner), losing team (Loser), whether the winning team was playing at home or away (WinnerAt), points for the winning team (PtsW), points for the losing team (PtsL), total points scored by both teams (TotalPts), yards for the winning team (YdsW), yards for the losing team (YdsL), turn overs for the winning team (TOW) and turn overs for the losing team (TOL). There are also additional columns of TieHome and TieAway indicating the two teams that played the only tie game of the 2013 season in week 12. The Week column also denotes the nature of each playoff game.

This file has two variables: Performing A value of 0 indicates that the loan is not a performing loan and that the borrower is either behind payments or is in default. A value of 1 indicates that the borrower is in good standing. Credit_Score Is the borrower's credit score at the time the loan was given.

Seating Choice versus GPA (Stacked & Split Columns for Front & Back Rows)
This dataset contains hypothetical (I believe) data on GPA for students who sit in the front and back row of a classroom. The data are shown in several ways: (a) two separate columns (one for the front row GPA and another or the back row GPA); (b) stacked with one column to indicate front or back row and another column with the GPAs; and (c) the row column repeated as a 0/1 indicator variable. This dataset is useful for comparing the different ways that StatCrunch can compare the means of two groups: (a) The two columns of scores (front and back) can be used in the 2-sample t-test or a one-way ANOVA; (b) the stacked text column (front/back) with a separate column for GPA can also be used for one-way ANOVA; and (c) the 0/1 indicator column and stacked GPAs can be used with correlation and regression. Every procedure gives the same p-value and same conclusion, thus highlighting the similarity of statistical procedures and StatCrunch's flexibility.

Sleep Deprivation Study
Does sleep deprivation have harmful effects on cognitive functioning three days later? Stickgold, James, and Hobson (Nature Neuroscience, 2000) investigated this question by providing training to 21 volunteer subjects followed up by an initial test. The subjects were then divided into two groups: one group was deprived of sleep following the test, and the other group was permitted unrestricted sleep after the test. Both groups were then allowed as much sleep as they wanted on the following two nights. All subjects were then re-tested on the third day. This data set contains the improvement as measured by the difference between the two exam scores (second - first) and the sleep conditions imposed on the subject. Note that a negative value indicates a decrease in performance.

Exam Incentives
Will cash incentives increase students test scores? A college professor conducted an experiment to examine that idea. A group of 20 volunteers from the professor’s class participated in the experiment. Students were informed that they would receive compensation for taking an exam over the material from the professor’s class. Students were told to do the best they could on the exam. The 20 students were randomly assigned a dollar amount for their compensation that ranged from $1 to $50.
