  1. Choose the With Data option if the data table contains raw observations that are to be cross classified in a two-way table.
  2. Select the column that contains the values to be categorized down the rows of the table.
  3. Select the column that contains the values to be categorized across the columns of the table.
  4. Enter an optional Where statement to specify the data rows to be included.
  5. Select an optional Group by column to group results. A separate two-way table will be constructed for each distinct value of the Group by column.
  6. Click Compute! to view the results, which include a two-way cross classification table along with chi-square test for independence between the row and column components.
This example cross-tabulates “Is College Worth it?” response by gender, with a test for independence between the two factors. This data set is available as www.statcrunch.com/app/?dataid=1053395
