This report will focus on the data below, which was collected via a statcrunch survey about texting while driving. We obtained our sample from all drivers of men and women. The data was obtained through answering these four survey questions:

1. Are you male or female.

2. What is your age?

3. How often do you text and drive in a 24 hour period?

4. How many accidents have you had while texting and driving?

The pie chart below shows the percentage of women to men that text while driving that participated in the survey.

The grouped bar plot belows shows that more women than men text while driving.

How old are you? This bar plot shows that 20-40 years olds texted more frequently while driving.

shows that the participants in the survey were between the ages of 20-50

 

<results5> Summary Statistics

 Shows the population sample of 929 the mean age is 19.68 with a standard deviation of 3.78 and a median of 18.78. Which indicates that the age of drivers that text while driving is approx. 20. The mean and the median, relative values relate to the right skewedness symmetry of the distribution by 0.9% of each other. The population sample is skewed to the right. The histogram becomes more bell-shaped and right skewedness' decreases. The histogram has a bell-shaped distribution almost without right skewedness' with the sample size of 929 which is normal. The population standard deviation is 3.78, while the standard deviation of the sample means are much smaller, and continues to decrease until it reaches 0.9 with the sample size of 929. The mean of the population is 18.78, sample means were approxematly th same. The spread decreases as the number of samples increases, and the center remains approxematly the same.

 N1 and N2 Indicates that there were 2 accidents among the median age of 20 year olds and 0 among the older participants

 

<result7> Correlation Coefficient is -0.13852329 and there is not sufficient evidence to support the conclusion of a significant linear correlation.
